WEEKLY RIDE SCHEDULE

All ride groups are limited to a maximum of 12 riders per group. Larger groups are split into 2 or even 3 groups made up of riders of similar fitness levels. This policy increases the comfort and safety for all. Group rides accommodate riders of all abilities and provide a pathway for riders as there fitness, skills, and experience develop. It is the responsibility for each rider to know the routes and ideally have them downloaded into their bike computer.

We have a number of weekday and weekend rides available for both road and XC. Group ride departure times and routes will be shared with the club prior to the rides. We recommend that all members register with Strava and join the Milton Bicycle Club Strava Group. A

The length and terrain of Club Rides varies based on the season and group ability.

Weekday rides will begin in mid May. The rides will be available for all riders and groups. The rides will alternate from week to week between a ride up each of the roads on top of the escarpment, and a laps around the top of the escarpment following the Bell School, Steeles, Appleby and 14th Side Road block.

It is important that all rides have their bikes in proper running order and have adequate means of making repairs on the road. Everyone must also carry identification and a cell phone in case help is needed. Helmets are also mandatory on all club rides as per the rules outlined by the OCA insurance policy.

ROUTES

All rides and routes will be communicated to members through STRAVA. We are able to quickly send messages out using the group ride function. Riders will also be able to download the maps onto their GPS enabled cylcle computer or onto their smartphone. A basic membership to STRAVA is free, and uploading rides is not required. We are obligated by the OCA to provide ride info in advance of the ride and we feel this is the most efficient way to communicate to the club as a whole and allow for the sharing of maps.

DEPARTURE LOCATION

All rides will begin and end at the Scott Neighbourhood park. Located at 143 Scott Blvd, just south of Main Street. There is lots of parking for those needing to drive their vehicle to the ride

RIDE TIMES AND DEPARTURES MAY BE UPDATED AND ADDED THROUGH OUT THE SEASON AS THE WEATHER AND AMOUNT OF SUNLIGHT CHANGES.
